The Miracle League of Columbia at Maury County Park Facility Opening and Opening Day 2026
From https://www.columbiamiracleleague.com/about: The Miracle League of Columbia at Maury County was formed in 2021 by a group of Columbia natives who had a dream of bringing an all-inclusive Miracle League program and playground to their old stomping grounds in Columbia.
The first Miracle League field opened in 2000 and was designed to give kids ages 5-19 with disabilities the chance to play America's favorite pastime, baseball.
Together with brothers Mike and Daniel Uggla, Robin Estep began the dream of forming a Columbia chapter of the national organization. Daniel, a former MLB player began his baseball career in Columbia, Tennessee. The Miracle League offers the perfect opportunity for him to give back to the community that gave him his start on a successful baseball career.
The eventual home of the field and park holds special meaning to the Uggla family as well as many others. The Babe Ruth Field was a staple in youth baseball in this community for over 40 years and played a big role in Daniel’s love for the game. We are excited to see the vacant field that holds so many memories be transformed into such a meaningful endeavor.
