Making Maury Episode 001: How The King's Daughters' School Is Empowering Students Through the Enrich Box Program

At Visual Media Co, we believe storytelling has the power to create real change—and Making Maury, our new video series, is all about that. In our debut episode, we visited an inspiring program right here in Maury County that’s transforming lives through creativity, skill-building, and community collaboration.

Meet the Enrich Program at The King's Daughters' School

Led by Megan Fralix, the Enrich Director at The King’s Daughters’ School, this initiative is more than just a job skills program. It’s a deeply empowering experience for students with intellectual disabilities and autism, helping them gain confidence, independence, and practical tools to thrive in the real world.

The centerpiece of the program is the Enrich Box—a handcrafted, curated gift box that students design, assemble, and ship themselves. From concept and artwork to packaging and logistics, students are involved every step of the way. Each semester brings a new theme, new local business partnerships, and new opportunities for students to create something meaningful.

A Full-Circle Learning Experience

The process begins months in advance. Students brainstorm box themes, collaborate with local businesses to source products, and create original artwork that becomes part of the box design. The production process mirrors an assembly line, giving each student a dedicated role in the packaging journey. By the end, the boxes are shipped to customers across the country—from California to New Jersey—each one a symbol of growth and achievement.

And the impact? It’s not just about job training. As Megan shares in the episode, it’s about students saying, “I want to be able to introduce myself to strangers,” and months later, confidently leading campus tours or answering fun questions like “What’s your favorite movie?” in front of a group.

Why It Matters

Programs like the Enrich Box don’t just teach skills—they reveal potential. They create moments where students realize they can do it, where they recognize their own growth, and where a local community becomes a network of support and celebration.

This is exactly the kind of story we’re honored to share through Making Maury.
